As we emerged from the seemingly infinite halls A sinister truth made itself known; Life goes on without us It cares not for that which it will leave behind The essence of our memory Forever etched into the alcoves of our minds Is nothing. Though we cling to this skeletal bond Flesh and blood will inevitably decay Our rot nourishing enduring entities Our existence wiped from all eternity Scattered among fields of cosmic ash In death, we become one with the totality of life; One with all Time is only lent for a fleeting moment Eventually we must relinquish that which was given We amass great quantities of energy Solely to feed the cycle maintaining order Only to continually be forced back into the cyclic rotation Condemned to perpetual rebirth Unrelenting futility Life Nothing will remain Nothing will remain Nothing will remain Nothing will remain Of this skeletal bond Flesh and blood will always decay Nourishing enduring entities Wiped from all eternity Scattered among fields of cosmic ash Become one with all Life goes on It does not care for That which was left behind
