First felt the force in the moonlight Black blood pumped straight to my heart Cold grip of winter eternal Tore pieces of my mind apart Shape shifting surge through my shoulders Blue lightning flies through my veins Ears pounding, crashing with thunder Strange visions into my brain Born a beast in the woodlands Abandoned before I could run A channel of darkness in waiting What have I become No chains can ever contain me No blade can puncture my skin No plague can siege my defences No spell can warp me within Tried to shake off these demons Sought to dampen the flame A hunger that always needs feeding No one dares utter my name So this land I claim I was born in the shadows Of a life I'd not begun I never ever stood a chance To escape what I'd become I was born in the shadows Of a life I'd never begun

The city is sinking To new depths of sin Spiraling corruption Drags you deep within The smell of human squalor Fills the sooty air Cries of desperation All too much to bear Blood flows from the temple Through the cobbled streets Taverns overflowing With debauchery Rats pick on the corpses Slumped against the walls Of the looming palace A pauper's grave for all A curse upon this land The city is sinking It's dying on its knees The curse has brought destruction For all that used to be

Beyond the lost horizon Lies a vivid, never fading light A constant conscious glow That burns and pierces Through the open sky Known to few, but always Present in the hearts of those who dwell In the wilderness A secret they will never tell Beneath the rugged peaks The valley holds the Beacon's hidden truth Flanked by topaz lakes It sits alone playing it's silent tune Clasped by granite hands of Those who dared to touch The framing stone Petrified, they stand A monument of dust and bone A grip of lead restricts your mind A pulse within the mountainside Your dying thoughts bring the orb life Away from sight, but not 'The Eye'

I felt you drifting by A fading light that caught my eye A vision of serenity Brought in times of tragedy A face so pale and skin like snow A calming warmth, love's inner glow The one I long to see at last A fleeting moment of the past Oh cut adrift at sea The waves lashed on relentlessly Your body taken to the deep A watery grave in which you'd sleep Helpless, I clung to the wreck A storm so wild, I'll never forget A fatal crossing, we would take Your body, nature, it would break Oh I ask, I beg, I plead Walk with me my Queen tonight And love again you'll see I would give my everything Just for one more day So walk with me my Queen tonight Our exiled spirits free But it was not to be Your ghost, a passing memory Staring at the yellow moon I wonder how you left so soon Now you're resting peacefully Away from life's cruel trickery So into madness I descend Together we'll be when my time ends

Welcome to the Empire Travel weary friends My great halls await you A stay that never ends Oh let me introduce you To these wondrous land Where magic fills the mountain And sadness consumes man Look upon my kingdom Step inside my realm Let your eyes be open, To the pain I've dealt There's such a sense of order From the faith I've sold Overwhelmed by fear Under my control Pity not the poorest And pity not the weak There's no other choice, but To bow and worship me This is the world that I've made my own Fill yourselves with wonder The glory of my throne Take a look around you Tell me what you see Is it not astounding, what has come to be? These are the desperate souls Of such tortured times Clinging onto what they've left Left long behind Heed the warning Heed my words Now surrender, for It's me you serve

Behind the tower stands a chapel Pillars of gold reach for the stars The sight of arcane ritual orders Where mystic practice runs it's course Forbidden to all but the highest A sacred corner, fortified. By invitation of the ruler Come witness it with us tonight The gathered party fills the courtyard In a circle, on their knees A single torch lights up the centre The ashen slab's expecting thee At dusk the oaken doorway opens A fevered tension starts to rise Chanting penetrates the silence The ceremony comes alive Out of the shadows The hooded priests appear Clouded in incense That hangs in the air Dragging of chains As they march down the steps Make the decision Of whose turn is next Screaming and crying The chosen ones are led Onto the altar and Bound by their heads Feel the damp chill Of cold blood on your cheek Embrace the stone It's the last thing you'll ever see The curse has brought destruction For all that used to be

It came upon one frozen night A clash of wills, to death they'd fight Two creatures of unbridled strength Fueled by murderous intent "Who are you to challenge me? Question my immortality? The Gods have shown I am the one To rule Sea, Sky, Earth, Moon and Sun" You've been deceived, oh horned King It's time to end the suffering You cause to all her squirm below Your crushing fists that n'er let go So this eve I draw my axe Take aim for you, be certain that This world mourns Not your wicked soul The fires below consume you whole" The battle raged for several days The beasts locked in combat's embrace The earth shook with each mighty blow A legend formed that all would know And after what seemed like an age The struggle's deadly climax came A single strike to smash the skull The Bear succumbed to life's last call The Bull let out a godly roar And held afloat a beating heart Stood above his lifeless prey A worthy adversary As I promised learned friend You'd reach a rather bloody end Your fur adorns my chamber floor A trophy placed to remind all Listen hard and listen well It tolls for you my ossuary bell A brave attempt it was to try My victory meant you had to, die
