The year was 1748 When I received a call I had been playing Angry Birds But how could I be here at all? I knew the voice but not the name My battery was low They told me to come back right now I wasn’t sure if I should go It seems that I am just a traveller in time Detritus through the aeons Causing epochs to unwind I’ve lost all sense of purpose And all will to exist A fugitive in hiding Anachronistic nihilist abyss I saw the birth of dinosaurs With I myself not born I watched the fiery madness As the continents were formed Once I had killed Hitler Then hid myself away Somewhere in the recess of the past When I returned I found the world In even worse decay And left again forever as an outcast And now I travel with my phone And listen to the sounds That people from the future Never had the chance to make But now I know there is another one like me She wants to start the human race again And as the battery dies I see my phone recharge And next to me the woman Takes my hand She says ‘I know a place Where all that ever could have been Is waiting just for you And just for me’ Anachronistica It’s all that we desire It’s everything we want our world to be Anachronistica The time lines take us home And build for us a new eternity It seems we are just travellers in time Destroying all the aeons Causing epochs to unwind And as we travelled to this world I wondered to myself ‘Have we just left existence Or did we kill time itself?; But we have a new purpose And only we exist Anachronists

In the dream I cannot scream My blood begins to freeze I wonder if it sees me From the rusty carousel I cannot move I hear its shoes They squeak among the leaves Again I cannot get away As I relive this Hell And as I awaken There’s a sour smell of sweat My heart is racing faster My life is a disaster My panic still accelerates The circus is in town I know to take my life back I will have to kill a clown That noise is haunting me That old calliope It chills my bones I’m cold as stone And then I see my prey That painted smile is fake They’re all the same They thrive on pain And as I strangle him Those smirking eyes grow ever dim And now he’s doomed to be The first clown hanging from my tree Harlequin tree Your fruit so colourful Ornaments swing for me Harlequin tree Exact my vengeance Clowns are swaying in the breeze I have my suit all made My makeup for my grave And soon I will be free And as a church bell rang I knew soon I would hang From the harlequin tree Nobody ventures there They say there’s laughter there More chilling than a scream And haunts you in your dreams And drives you mad And as they cut them down To lay on cursed ground They knew they'd never be free Never to be free From the torment that writhes In their dreams every night From their fate with the Harlequin Tree
