In Dread Response

Caged in delight, wailing happily through the nuclear fog Slave of the Carbon 14 cloud, you swing by chains of invisible torture Puppeteer perverse, your marionette has clipped its own strings and in the snow – limbless, bleeding (as the dove breaks its own wings) In landscapes of wrought iron animals, frozen writhing beasts lurk Morphing delusively, waltzing in traumatic worlds, we no longer respond Mechanical wolves, LCD predators waiting to pounce Victimised, giggling in a realm of objectophilia, Save me! Oh, pixelated Prince of Peace Worship the plastic powers! (born-again Herods with gleaming swords, in firelight conspire) endtime prophecy is a needless argument when the earth’s spirit is dead We are bathing in its final breath Spluttering in its decay Playing with its amputations Caressing its seeping wounds Bleeding cavern embraces me Poison tomb infects me Tower climbers preaching the end but I’m already tasting skeletons Eidolons of confusion cloud the inner self Dementia children roam through parentless hallways Blindfolded in spiritual chloroform Corruption seed flourishes a garden of toxic narcotics Lead the masses into empty skull caverns that festers above the swamps of madness Aglow with the curse of mankind Let us prey on apathetic hearts Thrown into swirling oceans of suicide

Buried yourself with these lies. I paint the world in solitude through barricades of orphans grand white horses sinking to the riverbed Dwellers of the deep, telling me your stories through glowing eyes and black scales from the light-starved kingdom of subterra (finish it now, or forever be numbed) Do not live another day for them, your strength is false, they cannot hear you The wolves run up the stairs, to find you through a red haze they see, they see bloodthirsty Take your refuge, or take flight For it means ill... As your silhouette disappears between the stones I paint the world in solitude How the moon warps my fatalistic vision Amidst the sea of dreaming souls! Gravel and spade, Tonight I dig your corpse how lovely the stain glass gleams through the arches These golden statues approve Your holy mother on the throne Your presence means death, do not return

I'm inside your galleon, every timbered limb gazing through a hazy portal of cracked obsidian never to be released from this seafaring tomb to be condemned before the waves beneath the waning light of the moon Upon uncharted ocean, a realm unknown to me far above the cold abyss, where the deep calls to deep with no treasures to find, only strange mysteries detached and obscured by Neptunian gravity of clamourously wailing below ten thousand leagues in the darkest of tempests the whirlpools beckon me The kingdom of Poseidon, and its armies unseen collecting souls of voyagers centuries before me though entire fleets have perished in the gallery of waves will my body be disposed outside Atlantean gates? waiting in this turmoil to be reborn firing at sunrise, we'll hear the cannons Within the grasp of Triton, I am brandished and thrown Unto the alter of Proteus, my carcass bestowed How I long to hear, the morning's euphony as we stare into the pitch aphotic cavity Fasten anchors to foundations and be cast into Lethe would it rust beneath the waters stirring uncontrollably? will the pryers find disaster in the depths of the stream? dredgers wrecked upon the rocks of curiosity Yea, I circumvent the dolmens of azure contemplating creatures tangled in cerulean immures never to be emitted from the oceanic graves, from the dismal grip of Thanatos we have escaped waiting in this turmoil to be reborn firing at sunrise, we'll hear the cannons

Scarecrows in the sky! Spluttering decay through the firmament Broken winged swans melt to meet painful horizons as they cry Wildly leaping down the bleeding mountain Tormented by the grey ghost of explosions Becoming one with the furnace of war… …firing fatal rounds into the buildings black angels swooping in and around the city and dancing with the war Constructing a bleak kingdom of corpses Perching to drink from the skull of innocence Dim lights stray and cast creeping light around the shadows The scythes of justice have been crippled From scraping at the walls of a bombshell waiting to be ignited Embers shimmer through th’infernal chasm Tormented by the grey ghost of explosions and dancing with the war Firing fatal rounds into the buildings Black angels swooping in and around the city and dancing with the war …and with the flesh’s eyes I saw the divine beyond mysterious worlds, witnessing all atrocity with no terror in its inward glancing eyes clotted blood from a spilt cup of bitterness has been ignored Growing, until they reach the sky Billows of smoke clawing at the stars I saw the moon as a tyrant Peering down with mocking distant light a fearful glowing, from the limbs of victims Seizuring pyres of troops in ashes Quivering human refuse in the wind Still they ride Upon mechanical murder machines Sailing over skeletal seas Only to fight fire… With blood!

Vehicles soar on the horizon the light of a thousand lamps on motorways Colossal empty storehouses, echoing the sound of engines past twilight we see the transformation shadows becoming serenity, with dim neon lights flaring signals for mechanical empires to arise Cold grey walls moan and resonate in steel strongholds unheard voices shriek through the eeriness in a distorted mist of confusion Residents hear in their sleep, the silent approach of decay responding in nightmares and blackest visions the darkness of our future days I caught sight of my reflection, in a gutter filled with oil Dilated eyes and pallid flesh When the fruit of the earth is soured and the land has spat its venom back at us and the veins of the world have collapsed You’ll find me attached by cables Hissing and spitting to an audience of crude Orbiting in life unknown Circling in unanimated paleness as moths to a flickering lantern Like failed broken satellites Unheard voices shriek through the eeriness In a distorted mist of confusion A dismal sound between every building erupts through a hollow concrete sanctuary playing disorderly tunes, to clockwork hearts failed satellites, trapped in wires, waves, towering street signs and we will never take the exit. Clones climb the walls of an abandoned factory in search of nothing… and we will never take the exit. Orbiting in life unknown Circling in unanimated paleness as moths to a flickering lantern like failed broken satellites And we will never take the exit

REMEMBRANCE Haunted shores beckon me to an unknown destiny force guilt with no sympathy though some have carried mountains Mute these words, in this venomous world golden tongues - diamonds ground to dust fading lights glowing.. in murky waters, drowning Hesitant warning signs Sickening cold at sunrise Heart became mechanism Life’s grip has lost adhesion, still we- Mute these words, in this venomous world golden tongues - diamonds ground to dust fading lights glowing.. in murky waters, drowning Momentary vow of silence, this hidden monologue I'll take beyond the grave So many who play hero, never notice the martyr the sun sets with so many left behind through devastated eyes (broken mirrors) trapdoors to emptiness sealed shut (we hope) sixteen candles burning so pale and now we’re all breathing with you Mute these words, in this venomous world golden tongues - diamonds ground to dust However freedom has been lost the void has spared one more captive... (a fleet of souls in the thickening fog) Momentary vow of silence... This hidden monologue... I'll take beyond the grave... silent explosions in dark serenity passing through corridors of dead kids hopeless scenes that stain remembrance hopeless scenes that stain remembrance and now... we're all breathing with you.

Walking into headlights Calignosity envelopes all figure a crywolf sentiment thrust skyward To be marooned Lost avenues wandering maimed Trees leering obscenely across streetlamps Creaking in the wind that scatters soured leaves of hopelessness a phantom, Waif-like prancing through screeching chariots Stunned rabbit stare, crouching timidly… Bloodless admission, the breathing chasm summons With the voice of whirring wheels …cavernous eyes… …porcelain rose smouldering efflorescence clouds bring rest to the moon’s intrusive glare dreamt gleaming firelines tunnels, lights concealed in gloom fragmented crystalline landscape draped in garbage and rats watched by mannequins in store windows in sight are the towers of sleep confounded by tenuous electrical guides an orchestra of distant machinery pulsing through pavement drains… I, as the shade Ghost-dancing among swerving carriages I am the night apparition Glowing as vapour in soft lanterns Incandescent spirit roaming… Incandescent spirit roaming… Along lost avenues Wandering maimed.

Fatigue embraces me Amidst these mighty oaks Visions of escaping my flesh and soaring to another realm comforts All fear begins to take its leave a raven choir in boughs above Shriek dirges and deathlike hymns In a broken discordant chant Deciduous trees shed their leaves On the forest floor beside me Golden autumn in the shade of broken canopies ‘neath the pale sunlight Crows flock and gather Ignored, obscured and surreal To hunt among the brambles Falling twilight and the dusk sets in Eyes closing never to wake at the call of the carrion crow in howls of pleasant whispers To leave this wretched body and its marred flesh To soar beyond the mountainous plains Surrendering to the glow of the amber skies Though I drown in Charon’s wake the beckoning winds unfold their invitation as twilight draws its deep curtain I disappear into the dusk of mine to join with the choirs of Asphodel and become bewitched by the sylph Drunk on the nectar of Ambrosia at the edge of the light I can taste the dew of Heavenshores shimmering in the air of the Elysian Sanctum Yet the vines of deliverance wrapped around my limbs drag me to colourless waters in the silent courts of moths… of dust…

and when the soul can no longer bear the corruption of this earth and its atrocities is it ready to take its leave to take refuge beyond dark mountains (it begs the question) Are we all dead Have we passed on Or as half-lives, vagrant in this realm Desensitised, oh absent empathy Ringmasters in the circus of nonchalance Shall we entertain the demons of derailment and train up master architects of delusion a listless spell over the residents of a stillborn kingdom Pyrrhonic sentiments aflow in this dissident state Polyplastic generations swamped in nausea Let us raise our glasses over fountains of crimson! (without scanning our minds for decay) Howling overhead, the winds carrying voices in torment, between celestial gales Empty lungs bleeding funeral oratory to a stillborn kingdom Conveniently blinded, in the path of ruin Subconsciously craving disease Without escape, without release (conscientiousness has disappeared into the dusk) the sun mocks us with carcinogenic rays the clouds are spitting back to us, the tears of suffering We; schismatic parasites, creating more divisions Incessant drones ensnared in labyrinths Traversing through the sordid veils of disenchantment Cackling in a phantasmic mirror-maze Spilling the lifeblood of goodwill Into empty coffins.

The earth trembled all nature sighed in dread response a god has died! The wings of death have opened up as we nurture the world with pain Now we are disappearing into the cancerous trees where the shepherd has lost all his sheep Empty skies our veins are open following the radiant voice of hopelessness and fear the temple walls disintegrate mortal fears hammered into bloodstone "Sons of the earth - flesh on dead bone" we sealed your tomb, begotten one "Sons of the earth - flesh on dead bone" they buried you, forgotten one The sun withdrew its light in shame as we're trying to reach the stars for we are the defectors of your broken destiny the crowned heads who first called retreat Still, in our minds we'll make attempts at transcending the imminence of suffering and misdeed though all the emblems are set ablaze Reverence never admits defeat "Sons of the earth - flesh on dead bone" we sealed your tomb, begotten one "Sons of the earth - flesh on dead bone" they buried you, forgotten one Virtues of worthless black and white held captive by sewer-hearts spouted from the mandible of nothingness to appease the never-ending flow of hallowed scum writhing in a pious confusion, each wearing a head of plaited thorns the passionless martyrs acting out ordinance, confined to dreary cellars of sanctity abandoned kingdom in the sky, its master is laughing through amnesia clouds as the crowd descends from the mountain through the swirling storms and eruptions the wingless dove in bloody rags; released

Unto thee a farewell, I speak in vain Take flight I must, to the emptying place Where forgotten ones wander and saviours escape Ego-rituals vanquished by the knights of disdain Empires forsake in circles of dust Ruins not worth pecking at for riches nor for loot As the adverse effect to the Midas touch Kenosis received by the world-serpent’s drains Into wishless crypts, where all hope has been slain Remember me as pain Remember me as war Remember me as futility Writhing in bloodsoil… I am the winds of devastation, on these infected plains I am the rain of a thousand tears, shed with dead innocents I am the crown of victory buried with the bones Lost amidst shrapnel in empty fields. Remember me!
