The path goes on and on But we walk hand in hand Fighting off the swarm The cold realization That life is not what we expected But we continue together and pick each other up When the other has fallen Flowing like the water that runs through the earth And nobody knows where it will lead us, Yet there is a sense of comfort in not knowing As long as you're by my side then flow we shall, No matter what the direction The gravity of this endeavor determines our course Forever is a word you mutter often, Adding brick by brick to our foundation But are we setting ourselves up for failure? Time will tell Every now and then we stumble and stutter, Yet the outcome is always the same We pick up our tired feet and carry on, because I have you and you have me The path goes on and on but we walk hand in hand fighting off the swarm. Anything that comes our way We will climb the steepest of mountains, And break the strongest of barriers Flowing like the water that runs through the earth.

A slowly winding wind Carries me blindly towards the unknown With fog as thick as death I can only hope this is a dream Why does this blinding radiant light Not brighten the darkness within your eyes? Out of the mist your figure appears We walk down this shadowed path But your feet never touch the ground With hand in ghostly hand Beneath a sky not of this world Can you not see the sun your presence creates? As a cold feeling grips my throat I know that this moment is fleeting There must be a way Come back with me Into the flesh and blood! Is it not better to die with me Than never to live at all? Or did I dig too hard against the grain? And as this room loses warmth And the light fades from my eyes, I'm haunted by your promises That everything will be all right

Standing on top of the world and looking down. I'm mesmerized by the beauty of this light we have created. As we watch the years pass us by, we sit together and let the music sleep in our ears. This is how it was always supposed to be, just you and me. The look in your eyes is slowly becoming distant. But I dig my nails in deep and hold on for dear life. Once our memories fade our footsteps will disappear. The path will no longer be brightly lit by your tainted light. I thought you were walking beside me, only to find out that you were never there. I thought you carried me when only one set of footprints were visible. Now I know I was walking alone. You were never there. Now I fear I must walk alone, and it makes me feel empty and cold. My feet are heavier than ever before. As the storm rolls in I prepare for war. Stuck inside my own mind and lost within the sands of time.

I watched as the fissures formed Splinters in the unbreakable sky And as the pieces fell to earth I knew my foundation of existence was lost The path that lead us here is now nothing more than a barren wasteland. This broken ground barely holds the weight of me The foundation has dissolved to sand and mortar The wretched sun no longer shines down on me All light has gone from the sky A ghostly road where we hear nothing but the whispers through the trees. This is the day when the world shattered, because the sky came falling down. Now I barely speak. Now I barely sleep. Trapped inside me is a tragic outcome. This is now a hollowed version of me. The path that lead us here is now nothing more than a barren wasteland. Now the demon awakes inside these walls, and tears into flesh that only bled for her. Burned down and burnt out. This pile of ashes no longer reflects the radiance of the flames that we once created. Instead it lies there as a reminder of hollow words and hollow years that I never desired to see.
