Hyperglaive
Rogue planet rent the sky The moon was torn in two The air was ripped away And yet we ride Barbarian and sorceress sweet Feline brute on lizard steed Venture forth on barren wastes To battle 'gainst the wizard breed Savagery grips the world Super science lights the night Sorcery can stain the heart And yet through it all we ride Sunsword shines Demon dogs Meet the lords of light Thrones smashed with wits and flame Oppressors of a world insane They prey on weakness all Freedom lives where we ride A ray of light in darkest times Tyrant's bane: the sword of light Sunsword shines Three will ride out of the mines Fueled by freedom's might Fiery sword chose the man To bruise the despot's pride From the ashes of old worlds Reason will arise Kings will be cast down Wizards' reign will end tonight It takes the rage of a beast The strength of a man The love of a queen To bring justice to the land

Will o' the wisps Lead the way Into forbidden southern seas Adventurous Sailors don't come back from here Wind's hiss, sea's spray Waterspouts speed by with ease Dangerous "Press on" she whispers in my ear Sun-addled minds on gold and girls We'll sail across the world Speculate Theorize On a sea of stars Mythology is right Sail on! Sail far We are trapped On a sea of stars Moon's-sister shimmer sprite Comes to me cool by night Whispering: "To south is certain death my dear" Breaking free of the current's might Moon's movement is the sign Stellar romance? Or combat that is happ'ning here Waterspouts around us fly Shining stars on the other side Treasure waits Or so it seems Helpless now Held captive by our dreams Trapped in a sea of stars And how we've ranged the lands and sea alike For fortune, thrills, and wine Desiring only to be free Partners in heroic deeds and crimes Comrades for all time Now Witnessing cosmology As waterspouts collide, and faeries battle, I glimpse space and time As the ancient ones believed A speck of atmosphere Rising slowly through cosmos of brine And the sky is the sea Sail on! Sail far

Once gods were free to roam the earth And travel wide with monstrous size Then came the men With axe and gun Then came the iron To demonize Oh nameless god of rage and hate Traveling towards your grave An arrow to the aye And so be cursed to die There's evil in the west As the mark begins to spread Cursed and cast away The spirit god shall walk this day And as the darkness comes Still the wolf gods run As night begins to walk And ancient monsters talk Humankind will pay For the world that they betrayed A town that's built on graven soil With ape clan skulking in the wastes The samurai On emperor's writ They seek the head Immortal life EboshI's blood is what San seeks The princess wolven wrath released With battle headdress down A primal warrior's crown A trap to snare them all As they head the boar gods call Cursed and cast away The spirit god shall walk this day And as the darkness comes Still the wolf gods run As night begins to walk And ancient monsters talk Humankind will pay For the world that they betrayed By the will Of just one man A tool Of nature's plan Life will conquer greed As it was Soon it shall be

I am nameless Wasted youth from the eastern lands Drifting aimless Wandering westward Neither searching nor fleeing Fate sweeps me into these barren lands Staggering, desperate I chance upon meeting Mercenaries so cold My talents have found a home Tow'ring infant Hairless demon Destroying all he learns Scalping freely Murd'ring stealing Death is all we earn And it is all we deserve Death to all creation Judgement is blind Under red skies and madness Judgement will ride Cannon in hand he wields Steady hands made for reaping Breeding disorder across the land Sprung from a flowing field Cloven footprints were seen there A gift from below Common purpose we all have Revelling in sands running red Selling bones of the innocent Chaos rides among us Death to all creation Judgement is blind Under red skies and madness Judgement will ride Carving a red path Until we reach the western sea Dive into it And so we enjoy a brief moment of peace Now, back in the heat, you I put it all behind me Denied my penchant for evil Knew someday he would find me

Through the ages I've known a thousand worlds Each shattered moment mine a lie Roll the dice Take it all away again When am I allowed to die? A billion lifetimes From the dawn of infinity Cruelty happiness and hate They flayed me, drowned me Betrayed me and crowned me Which was worse I cannot say The fear, the pain, the curse of immortality Runs deep, runs cold, runs flowing through my veins Once more I begin a journey through time and space And then the light is here, and then it all is clear I was a god A billion souls enslaved But here I am right now encaged So bizarre The fate that has led me here Will this be the end for me? Can't get out No way to shout Will this water cage Be my final grave? These lives I've lived Each death a cruel formality And so I wait and long for my sweet end Although I dream of blissful black eternity I know I'll live a billion lifetimes more

In my vision: a suit of armor A child's form Inside - vast universe I melded with beasts within the sand To survive the elements Skin that is not my skin New monster will terrorize this land 3 millennia I'll shape the universe as God-emperor: Oppressor of us all Behold the worm The golden path awaits Behold the worm Beast with human face Will rule the human race Behold the worm I am Shai Halud I've passed through savage storms of desert sand Spice trip reveals all truth Hybrid - worm and man I, tyrant Rule with iron hand Imposing order But chaos is my plan With my doom comes rebirth of man 3 millennia I patiently await my last surprise - assassination Timeless burial Death at the hands of he with silver eyes Such a long wait for the end Behold the worm The golden path revealed Behold the worm Beast with human face Preserve the human race Behold the worm

Through the fog To ancient halls Only known in crumbling scrolls Summoned here into my realm With mace and shield and shadow helm They come They die They rise They fight to regain their lives Then they die Their shades will forever fight Countless times we've stalked these halls Countless times we've fought these hoards The tower prison terror green The tunnel's molemen labouring The flying mantas of storm shrine The ogre bogs, filled with slime A warning scrawled upon the ground A magic ring a goblin found The merchants here, they trade in souls You've learned the spells the old one knows Countless times we've stalked these halls Countless times we've fought these hoards Armored knights with glowing eyes Dragon's breath and haunting cries Forgotten souls that haunt these worlds Questing blind and in soul form Survive this day and you may find A demon's mouth into you climb

Who are these grizzled souls fallen from the sky In ancient craft of legend Myths from old days come alive out of time Travelers bring salvation We comb the skies For stars long gone We pay the price of passing time and sanity We bring you singularities A lifetime ago out there, many ages here Civilization failing Bade farewell, pledged to bring the sky's power To satisfy mankind's craving Man was doomed to vanquish earth consuming all too freely We went forth to search for power to avert dark ages But something went wrong All satellites gone Where is the means To harvest our bounty We have no such gadgetry here We know not what lies out past the air Science and history some say it's a lie What year is it anyway? The world is in such decay Too late have we arrived We could have saved the world Legend has it Our ancestors possessed the Power to harness the Death of a sun And deliver the energy To everyone 'twas a dream So outlandish did it seem But that was ages ago Descended to rage and war Fighting for water For resources scarce Our fathers failed us Where were you all this time? Moving stars is not so easy, dragging mountains before them Time distorted minds and bodies we became what you see Tattered and worn Time travel torn Gone is the place We once called our home The means to achieve most anything Stay alive and you will have it one day We'll help you to use these dark stars They're in the skies Use them wisely
