The stench in the air Is cold as a winter night The loss of my inner quest The fallen star faded away... Deeper, deeper I sink Into the embrace of sorrow The winds of liars caresses me Down here in the crying Valleys of the dreamers Detest and yearning tears me apart I can see the thousand points of light Up in the burning sky And I knew: it has to be done... The salt of anguish Fills my bleeding veins My heart is pierced by its falseness Darkness... Among evil gods I sleep Their ancient hymns were my dreams But the vast and cold forest beckons So I rose with the funeral moon From my coffin of blackest stone From the crypt which for aeons embraced me Through the portals and into the frozen night It's calling for me... The gate rose before him It stood there open wide A bloodstained portal of might His travel to the land unknown I awakened from this dismal dream The same as thousand times before This sight is so impure So filled with mourning and with grace It cries a message to me Of which I cannot ever grip, A man and this enormous gate, With his name on it written in blood... Crawling in grief Across the distant fields I am the desire of which engraved thee...
