Redemption

Sprinting to the finish Joyful smiles upon our faces Never really thinking why the race is run Remembering the moments When music played and people laughed Not reflecting on how they'll all be undone It's not the finish but the road along the way We should take notice of as day transforms to night transforms to day (Don't forget that time is fleeting) Soaring through the heavens Feet and heads above the clouds Never thinking much about how hard we'll land Till we crash into the earth And rise again disoriented Wondering how much more of that that we can stand They matter not, the violent storms upon our seas Rather, the connections that we make as we write our histories (That's okay we'll live another day) Life gives, life takes Every day must end and night will always fall Our triumphs and mistakes In the end won't really matter much at all I try to praise this mutilated world Remembering days of bitter sunlight Like any man who's lost and lived Death has its plan but it hasn't worked out yet Life gives, life takes Every day must end and night will always fall Our triumphs and mistakes In the end won't really matter much at all Life takes, life gives Every night must end and dawn will always come Rejoice and live And remembering that perspective, we push on Remembering perspective, we push on The dawn will come again before too long And when we’re basking in the brightest sun Be mindful that another night will come Another night will come And then another dawn I’ll remember the dawn Remember the dawn Keep looking for the dawn I’ll remember the dawn!

I have barely stopped the wounds I have from bleeding And I'm going back to battle once again My skin is thickened from the unrelenting beatings And on more of them I know I can depend Thinking many steps ahead Trying to read your mind There's a nagging and persistent sense of fatalism My failure's all but guaranteed Still I rally in defense of my position Hoping that with luck I might succeed Can I anticipate what's coming Enough to save me? (x2) Dies have been cast Outcomes preordained Still I count it down Seven minutes from sunset Head to the breach The dead will fill the wall Just one more day Seven minutes from sunset

Leaden skies portend the storm is gathering Thickening air grows dense and blocks the sun Kinetic lightning biding its time Something's about to strike No way to outrun what is to come I hear the whispers of my enemies Warning me I won't survive the storm Driving rain unsettles what was static Searing wind disrupts the status quo Monuments come tumbling down And expectations die And those who held them are the last to know I can hear the devil whisper That I won't withstand the storm You say that I won't survive But once it's passed you will recognize I'm the only one remaining You don't understand I am the storm I can hear the voice of reason I can hear the voice of doubt Telling me I won't survive Time to shut the voices out You say that I won't survive But once it's passed you will recognize I'm the only one remaining You don't understand I am the storm
