Where dreams lay Shot down I lay my head on down These eyes have seen the clouds They'll say, they'll say it's ours These eyes have crippled doubt and it's one land they see One land we dream about, and It's there for me I have seen enough A poor man's dreaming, all alone When the dust comes raining down A solemn release is what is found And when there's nothing left we sing A bitter song for dying plains I heard you scream aloud Before your voice gave out I'm there where nothing was This world's gone dark again I have seen enough to know To look away When the dust comes raining down A solemn release is what is found And when there's nothing left we sing A bitter song for dying plains And when the river's dry and gone And forests razed won to the ground Will we remember what was made Or take it with us to our grave

A blight on the horizon The neighing mare looks to the ground A passing cloud like passing time The shadows far and wide There! Beyond the reaches I see the coming storm I know not where I can find shelter Or sense of home to be at peace All I was seems to slip away Into nothing All I want is a place to call home Sing your story The song of trodden men For all to see For those who held your name No saviors no glory A last shred of valor left We are the lone The lost men on the plains Rider, rider Who are you running from What is your name worth to you And what you’ve done? Carve out your name Before time can forget Across the sky A bitter history Carry your shame Your deeds can’t be undone We are the lost The sons of nameless graves Oh lonesome rider Lay down your guns This world has left you behind Time has won Just one of endless sons of the frontier The time has passed me by Only one hope left to cling to To enter my house justified All those who bore Who bore my name Will live and end Will end the same The paths we walk reach far and wide The paths we tread on which we’ll die The paths will never forgive me Or trade the future for a dream

As the ages pass us by They finding us reaching for a light In endless night Left to question who we are And if we’ll ever find a place In this life The mask is gone Three hundred years A tale untold They hide their fear Where has it gone? Where is the nation that I thought I knew? What do we know What is it really that we gain You’v e got a shadow on your grave A false constellation that you have made You’ve got a shadow on your grave The bells of time ring out for your name A grave, a nation So what is it that is left What is it that we built A monument To an idea, washed away A beaten tattered flag Raised in honor of a dream A memory Of what had never came to pass You’v e got a shadow on your grave A false constellation that you’ve made The bells of time ring out for your name You’ve got a shadow on your grave A grave, a nation. A shadow
