Wolves at the Gate
EP • 2013
When deadbolts awake you from déjà vu dreams At four in the morning, you know where I'll be Out running red lights asleep at the wheel The sirens feed my nightmares I just close my eyes and I'm already here It's already too late I know it's nothing but lies But they sound so sincere I find them too hard to hate And she calls from the doorway "Stolen water is sweet So let's drink it in the darkness If you know what I mean" And she calls from the doorway "Stolen water is sweet So let's drink it in the darkness If you know what I mean" And I'm almost sure That I've been here before That this is not the first time I've stood in front of this door With an overwhelming feeling that I shouldn't go in But it seems this is a battle that I never could win And you My true love You call from the hilltop You call through the streets "Darling, don't you know? The water is poison" And I say "Come on and give me my poison" What have I done? Is it too late to save Me from this place, from the depths of the grave? (What have I done?) We all are those who thought we were brave (What have I done?) What have I done?

Splintered piece of glass falls in the seat, it gets caught These broken windows, open locks, reminders of the youth we lost In trying so hard to look away from you We followed white lines to the sunset I crash my car every day the same way Time to let this pass (The time it takes, the time it takes to let go) Time runs through our veins (It starts and stops and starts and stops again) We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time (To take time to break the cycle) Staring at the setting sun No reason to come back again The twilight world in blue and white The needle and the damage done I don't want to feel this way forever A dead letter marked return to sender The broken watch you gave me turns into a compass Its hands still point to the same time, 12:03, our last goodbye So push the seats back a little further Roll the windows down and take a breath I can see the headlights coming They paint the world in red and broken glass The spinning hubcaps set the tempo for the music of a broken window When the lights are on and the cameras click We open up the lens to broken glass and it's over in a flash I'll never understand Understanding in a car crash

Words so secure screaming like an alarm Are you trying to wake me up? Now what was that you were trying to pull? Is it my arm? I believe you're trying to wake me up But could it be maybe It's not me sleeping? Could it be maybe you awakening? But could it be maybe It's not me sleeping? Could it be maybe you awakening? Sleep this time tonight Sleepwalk in the light Sleep this time tonight Sleepwalk out of sight Now here I am, but I'm just sleepwalking Yes, here I stand But I guess I'm just sleep-talking for myself But could it be maybe It's not me sleeping? Could it be maybe you awakening? But could it be maybe It's not me sleeping? Could it be maybe you awakening? Sleep this time tonight Sleepwalk in the light Sleep this time tonight Sleepwalk out of sight Sleep this time tonight Sleepwalk in the light Sleep this time tonight One day, this world will see me at the horizon One day from a distant light And just before I stand to face my love I'll turn around And with a smile, I'll say my goodbyes One last goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Sleep this time tonight Sleepwalk in the light Sleep this time tonight (Goodbye) Sleep this time tonight (Goodbye) Sleepwalk in the light (Goodbye) Sleep this time tonight (Sleepwalk) Now

Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby He'll call on interim inequities This is the last night in my body Assist in the escape Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby He'll fly like only a jailbird could He'll fly like only a jailbird could Like a felon, he fell into scandals Scams and master plans To circumvent all circumstances He thought to his throat "We can swallow this key and leave when we please" Let's hope this stomach, stomach Let's hope this stomach disagrees Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby He'll call on interim inequities This is the last night in my body Assist in the escape Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby He'll fly like only a jailbird could He'll fly like only a jailbird could "Make a clean getaway," he said With his hands outstretched To nurse her neck She lured him in with a masochistic kiss And wished he could be anywhere, be anywhere but here Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby He'll call on interim inequities This is the last night in my body Assist in the escape Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby He'll fly like only a jailbird could He'll fly like only a jailbird could We could be anywhere But here, but here We could be anywhere But here, but here Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby He'll call on interim inequities This is the last night in my body So assist in the escape Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby He'll fly like only a jailbird could He'll fly like only a jailbird could Warden's calling for a lockdown, baby (Somehow) He'll call on interim inequities (For now) This is the last night in my body (This skin will have to do) So assist in the escape Warden's calling on a jailbreak, baby (Somehow) He'll fly like only a jailbird could (For now) He'll fly like only a jailbird could (This skin will have to do) This is the last night in my body, yeah This is the last night in my body, yeah
